Description

 novum musica returns!

On Friday March 6, 2015 mi will once again join ranks with Canada’s finest emerging composers by hosting a public reading/workshop session of ambitious new contemporary works. Targeted at uplifting choral composers both established and new, novum musica will feature works by the most innovative writers for vocal ensemble. In addition to public performance, the members of musica intima will facilitate dialogue between our ensemble and composers on the forefront of developing the new context for Canadian vocal music.

This is truly a special opportunity for composers and students to witness great contemporary choral works being workshopped by a Canadian vocal ensemble with incomparable skill. While this event centres on supporting students and emerging composers, we welcome composers both established and new to join the conversation about writing for contemporary vocal ensemble.

List of works being workshopped:

1. Emendemus in Melius - Robert Bridson
2. Aitake - Lucas M. Oickle
3. Nocturne - Paolo Griffin
4. Four Songs on Texts by e.e. cummings -  Duncan Maunders
5. Spirits of the Dead - Maxime Daigneault
6. In the Year Light - Christina Brice Dolanc
