musica intima toasts 20-year milestone with two concerts

February 19, 2013 | musica intima toasts 20-year milestone with two concerts

Vancouver, BC (February 19th, 2013)  musica intima's season culminates in twenty, where musica intima members past and present come together for a blockbuster concert. The program takes the audience through musica intima's 20-year journey, from the first piece ever performed by the ensemble, Sicut Cervus by Palestrina, to their most recent critically-acclaimed works such as Birdsong by Ed Henderson.

A reception will follow the concerts, during which audience members can mix and mingle with musica intima alumni and enjoy delicious canapés.

Founded in 1992, musica intima has become an integral part of Vancouver's cultural fabric. Internationally renowned for their warm and engaging stage presence, impeccable musicianship, and unique perspective on ensemble singing, musica intima has earned a reputation as Canada's most exciting vocal ensemble. What makes them truly unique is that the singers rehearse, perform and function as a collective. In rehearsal they self-direct, exchanging ideas freely while exploring their own musical creativity. In performance, they engage audiences with a spontaneity and directness all their own.

" ... they've distinguished themselves with their fresh, youthful tone, unanimity and expression, not to mention a raft of awards since forming in 1992."
